The “Traian Vuia” Air Force Military School of Warrant Officers and NCOs took part in a national workshop held in Bucharest on 24–25 November 2025, focused on the development of new occupations and professional qualifications in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
Organised by the National Centre f or the Development of Vocational and Technical Education and the National Agency for Community Programmes, the event brought together experts from the Ministry of National Defence, the aviation industry, and the education sector to discuss current needs and future trends in this rapidly expanding domain.
The school was represented by teachers Cosmin Nedelcu, Lucia Răileanu, Gheorghe Olaru, and the Head of the Education Department, Major Robert Ionașcu. Their participation was closely linked to the results achieved within the Erasmus+ KA220-VET UAVET project, which supports the development of modern training resources and educational tools for electro-mechanical technicians specialised in UAV maintenance and repair.
The discussions highlighted the importance of actively defining vocational requirements for emerging professions and confirmed the need to introduce new specialisations within vocational education. Drawing on the school’s experience gained through Erasmus+ VET accreditation projects, the workshop reinforced the value of adapting training programmes to the fast-paced developments in both military and civil aviation, ensuring the preparation of future specialists with relevant and up-to-date skills.
