UAVET National Conference in Środa Wielkopolska

On 27 November 2025, the Zespół Szkół Rolniczych im. gen. J. H. Dąbrowskiego (ZSR) hosted a national conference, marking the culmination of two years of intensive international cooperation under the Erasmus+ UAVET project. As the only Polish school participating in this prestigious consortium, ZSR welcomed 129 participants, including UAV technicians, academicians, VET providers, and students, to unveil a transformative framework for the drone service sector.
The conference served as a summary of a highly successful collaboration between six partners from four countries. By combining the expertise of higher education institutions, a military academy, and cutting-edge drone technology firms, the consortium developed a modern curriculum specifically for the servicing and maintenance of Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
This interdisciplinary approach ensured that the training materials—spanning electronics, mechatronics, and computer science—remain aligned with the real-world demands of the rapidly evolving aviation market.
During the event, ZSR and its partners introduced a suite of open-access digital resources designed to professionalise the role of drone technicians across Europe:
Occupational Standards E-Book (OSE): A definitive guide establishing the competencies required for the “UAV Repair and Maintenance Technician” vocation.
UAVET Training Programme: A modular curriculum tested during a piloting phase that successfully trained 140 students internationally, including 31 students at ZSR.
UAVET Video Library: A repository of 140 practice-oriented tutorials (including 78 unique videos) demonstrating technical tasks such as soldering and component repair.
The Digital Handbook: A user-friendly textbook featuring practical case studies on drone crashes and technical deficiencies.
The conference highlighted how ZSR has pioneered the standardisation of a new vocation within Poland. By providing these high-quality materials for free, the project has removed financial barriers for disadvantaged groups, including the unemployed and students from low socio-economic backgrounds, facilitating their entry into a high-growth industry.
The event concluded with a celebration of the project’s success in bridging the gap between vocational education and the industrial workforce. As the UAV sector continues to expand, the resources unveiled in Środa Wielkopolska will serve as a permanent digital legacy for future generations of technicians.
