UAVET Project Kick-Off Meeting Held at Balıkesir University
The kick-off meeting for the “Developing Vocational Skills of Electro-Mechanical Technicians for UAV Maintenance and Repair” project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, took place on April 17-18, 2024, at Balıkesir University, Turkey. The meeting, attended by partners from ÇOMÜ, MELLIS, DRONINT, SMMMS, and ZSR, was inaugurated by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt. He emphasized the importance of the project in training skilled technicians for the growing UAV industry. The project, running until December 2025, aims to provide vocational education to 95 young people and enhance UAV flight safety through proper maintenance.
The meeting focused on planning key work packages, including the development of an occupational standards e-book and a video library. Partners discussed timelines, with the first online meeting scheduled for May 2024, and the completion of video tutorials by December 2024. The project will also host local conferences, starting in April 2025, to disseminate its results to a wider audience, including industry professionals and educators.
