Balıkesir University Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, met with academics involved in projects that have been approved by the European Union and the Turkish National Agency, and have secured grants.
The visit, attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, included academics and study programme heads from the Edremit School of Civil Aviation, who are part of the project titled “Developing Vocational Skills of Electromechanical Technicians for UAV Maintenance and Repair,” coordinated by the school.
Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu congratulated and presented certificates of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Abdullah Soykan, Director of the Edremit School of Civil Aviation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seyhun Durmuş from the project team of BAUN, Edremit School of Civil Aviation, Dr Cumali Yaşar from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, and Caner Anda from Mellis Educational Technologies for their successfully funded project. The academics whose projects were accepted also thanked Rector Oğurlu for his interest and support.
The project titled “Developing Vocational Skills of Electromechanical Technicians for UAV Maintenance and Repair,” coordinated by the Edremit School of Civil Aviation, was approved by the Turkish National Agency and awarded a grant of 250,000 Euros. The project consortium comprises 6 esteemed partners; Balıkesir University, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, and Mellis Educatioal Technologies from Türkiye, Zespol Szkol Rolniczych imienia generala Jana Henryka Dabrowskiego w Srodzie Wielkopolskiej from Poland, Dronint from Cyprus, and, Scoala Militara de Maistri Militari si Subofiteri a Fortelor Aeriene “Traian Vuia” from Romania.
